lowland close to a river which sometimes would be flooded with water, and when dry, very good, fertile soil remained. People would plant their vegetables in that area.
He lived in Utica; his name was Jim Dorsey. Many
of you people might've knowed him. He's given me
many a watermelon when I was a little fellow. He
used to raise watermelons down on the river in
the bottoms there.
